Welcome to Quotify ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Quotify mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using Quotify, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account data: When you register, we collect your name and email address.
• Password: Stored in encrypted (hashed) form. We never store it in plain text.
• Profile updates: Any changes you make to your name or email through account settings.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Quotes you view, like, save, or share; categories you browse; daily usage count.
• Device token: A unique identifier used to send push notifications to your device.
• App interactions: Session timestamps and last-seen activity, used to maintain your account security.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Google Play: If you purchase a subscription, Google Play processes the payment and shares a purchase token with us to verify your subscription status. We do not receive your payment card details.
• Google AdMob: The free tier of Quotify displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• OneSignal: We use OneSignal to deliver push notifications. OneSignal may collect your device identifier and notification interaction data. See OneSignal's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Quotify account
• Deliver quotes, personalise your feed, and remember your liked and saved content
• Enforce daily viewing limits for free accounts and grant access to premium features for subscribers
• Send push notifications (daily reminders and feature announcements). You can opt out at any time in the app's Settings
• Display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob on the free tier
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• Send transactional emails such as password reset codes
• Improve and develop the Service based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers (Google AdMob, OneSignal, our hosting provider) who process data on our behalf under strict data-processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Quotify, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Push Notifications

Quotify may send push notifications to remind you of your daily quote. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in Settings → Notifications within the app, or through your device's system notification settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your account or content access.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, signed API requests, and access controls on our servers. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Liked and saved quotes are retained as part of your account profile. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate data through your account settings or by contacting us.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.
• Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent (e.g. notifications), you may withdraw it at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Quotify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

The Quotify app stores your authentication token and preferences locally on your device using secure device storage. Our website may use essential cookies to maintain your session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on our website.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of Quotify after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
